Macfie Architectural Design is a young team of multi-award winning architectural designers based in Auckland, New Zealand. Led by husband and wife directors, Michael and Rebecca Macfie.
As the architectural design director of Macfie Architectural Design, Michael combines creative design ideas with a highly hands-on approach to create buildings with character. He is constantly researching and developing new concepts to find appropriate design solutions that express the interests of our clients by integrating innovative technologies as well as time-honoured building techniques. With a focus on architecturally significant new builds, Michael’s dedication to the environment and the use of recycled, low impact materials play an integral role in the studio’s design philosophy.
As co-founder and director of Macfie Architectural Design, Rebecca’s operations and strategy management offers an understanding of both the design process and the bigger picture of engaging with key stake holders and councils to help clients accomplish their goals, drive improvement and facilitate change.
As the newest addition to the Macfie Architectural Design team, Ramon brings over 15-years experience working with a broad range of clients in the commercial, residential and public sectors.
Having worked for some of the largest architecture firms in New Zealand, Ramon’s multi-disciplinary practice helps facilitate best-in-class design and delivery to each one of the studios architectural projects.
Recently completing her Masters in Architecture from the University of Auckland, Madeline’s love of architecture is in equal parts both romantic and methodical.
Having had her design work displayed at Build NZ Design Expo and the MODOS Thesis Show at the Auckland Art Gallery - Madeline’s design pragmatism and contemporary eye keep the studios design aesthetic at the fore.
